To be honest, milking stuff was what made them money. But on the flip side, it earned them the scorn of the gaming community from both other developers and fans alike.
With the economy the way it is, the EA we hated (the EA that milked stuff) would be better suited for survival than this new EA that innovates (the EA we like)

But as much as I hate EA, I do give them credit for FINALLY trying to break away from the milking franchises thing. Even though Mirror Edge and Dead Space didn't do all that great, I love the attempt at trying something new.

And Take 2, who were on the verge of bankruptcy have just recently acquired a new company (if forget the name)
If they had succeeded in purchasing Take 2, most of the talent might have been cut before they even got their first game for EA out the door
I'll wait for a more official source or announcement for this. I'm not saying that the source is questionable. But considering they worked so hard to get Yakuza 2 out to the U.S., I'm almost certain Yakuza 3 will come out. In fact, the producer said it was a point to bring Yakuza 2 to the U.S. BECAUSE they wanted to get Yakuza 3 stateside.

It's price. Plain and Simple. The lowest price point for the 360 is a full $200 more than the lowest price point for the ps3. And let me tell you, parents are cheap as hell. Most of us experienced this for ourselves. Tell your mom or dad you want a ps3 for Christmas. What they'll do is go to the game store, and pick up a 360 or a Wii simply because it costs less.
